The majestic limestone cliffs of Gorges of Saint-Georges, located in the valley of theAude, offer a breathtaking setting.
Upstream ofAxat, 7 km long discovery rafting descent takes you through beautiful wild landscapes. The beginner course, from duration of 1 hour 15 minutes, consists of small rapids as well as quieter passages, including crossing the charming village of Axat.
This aquatic activity is accessible to everyone and is perfect for beginners, to children from 8 years old and people looking for a fun experience in nature.

Another option is possible: the "route child rafting ". This is a descent from 1 time reduced to Last 5 km of the discovery trail, reachable from 6 years !

These prices include:
- THEframing provided by state-certified guides.
- All the specific material and necessary for safe rafting practice.
- Le shuttle transportation to reach the start of the activity and to return to the raft base in Axat.
- THEprovident insurance for the supervised practice of rafting (professional civil liability)
- A €1 fee donated directly to EDF, which manages the dam feeding the river on which we practice the activity.

What is the meeting place?
Go directly to Axat, in the Sud Rafting car park, to pick up your equipment and meet your guide.
You will then go by shuttle to the start of your route.
Axat is located in the Aude department (11), just on the other side of the Pyrénées-Orientales border, at:
- 1 hour from Perpignan and Barcarès.
- 1h15 from Argelès-sur-Mer, Saint-Cyprien and Canet-en-Roussillon.
Who is it for?
The discovery and child rafting outings are composed of class II – III rapids.
They are ideal for families with children from 6 or 8 years old and groups of friends looking for a accessible activity et playful, riding a wilderness.
Prerequisites : know how to swim 25 meters and immerse yourself without fear.
What equipment is provided?
All the equipment necessary to practice rafting in optimal conditions of comfort and safety is provided to you:
- Suit neoprene
- Helmet specifically designed for rafting
- Life jacket
- Raft : inflatable boat
- paddles
All this equipment is CE approved and checked daily.
What equipment should be provided?
- A swimsuit
- A pair of sports shoes
- A towel
- A small snack and a bottle of water to consume when you return from the activity
How long does the activity last?
The discovery trail lasts about 2 hours:
- 30 minutes of reception, equipment and shuttle to the start of the course.
- 1h15 rafting descent
- 15 minutes of debriefing and return shuttle.
The children's course lasts approximately 1 hour 45 minutes:
- 30 minutes of reception, equipment and shuttle to the start of the course.
- 1 hour rafting trip
- 15 minutes of debriefing and return shuttle.
