DISCOVERY RAFTING IN THE ST-GEORGES GORGES

The framework :
Located in the Aude valley, the Saint-Georges gorges are made up of sumptuous limestone cliffs over 100 meters high. The rafting descent begins upstream from Axat and for 7 km, it crosses varied landscapes, rich in endemic fauna and flora.
This discovery outing is perfectly suitable for children, beginners and people looking for an outdoor, fun and accessible activity.
It is made up of alternating small, turbulent rapids and calmer passages, including the crossing of the pretty village of Axat, at the end of the course.
Useful information :
- Difficulty : for beginners, children, families — know how to swim 25 meters and immerse yourself — class II — III rapids.
- Age : normal course: from 8 years old / course reduced to the last 5 km: from 6 years old.
- Duration of activity : approximately 2 hours including 1 hour 15 minutes of descent, 30 minutes of welcome and equipment, and return shuttles.
- Price : from 35 € to 38 €.

SPORTS RAFTING IN THE GORGES DE PIERRE-LYS

The framework :
The magnificent Pierre-Lys gorges offer breathtaking canyons. Its vertiginous cliffs constitute an ideal wild setting for a sports outing in the heart of nature.
This time, the activity begins downstream from Axat, on the most committed part of the river. Intended for amateur or experienced athletes, this 7 km long rafting descent consists of a succession of large rapids, the difficulty of which increases.
The first kilometers are rather calm, with the crossing of the pretty village of Saint-Martin-Lys. Then, on the second part, beautiful rapids of classes II, III and IV follow one another.

- Difficulty : for amateur or experienced athletes — know how to swim 25 meters and immerse yourself — class II — III — IV rapids
- Age : from 12 years old.
- Duration of activity : approximately 2 hours including 1 hour 15 minutes of descent, 30 minutes of welcome and equipment, and return shuttles.

FULL RAFTING IN THE AUDE GORGES

The framework :
This "integral" rafting trip combines the two courses presented above, for 14 km of fun and aquatic pleasures.
In a splendid wild setting, embark on a sporty rafting descent of increasing difficulty. First of all, the gorges of Saint-Georges and the crossing of Axat and Saint-Martin-Lys. Then, the torrent rushes into the Pierre-Lys gorges, with turbulent rapids rich in sensations.
This 2h30 whitewater descent is ideal for athletes having a good physical condition, in order to adrenaline rush !

- Difficulty : for thrill-seeking athletes — know how to swim 25 meters and immerse yourself — class III — IV rapids
- Age : from 12 years old.
- Duration of activity : about 3h30 including 2h30 of descent, 30 minutes of reception and equipment, and return shuttles.
- Price : from 45 € to 49 €.
- Meeting place : in Axat, 1 hour from Perpignan and 1h15 from Argelès-sur-Mer, Saint-Cyprien, Canet-En-Roussillon.
Where to go rafting in the Pyrénées-Orientales?
There are no rafting spots in the Pyrénées-Orientales. Rivers, rivers and streams are not suitable, because they are not wide enough or with too low a water flow. But the good news is thatthere are superb rafting descents in the Aude (11), just on the border of the Pyrénées-Orientales.
The Aude is a river that has its source in the Pyrenees chain, at Lake Aude, at an altitude of more than 2 meters. Over the centuries, it has carved beautiful mineral gorges into the limestone, rising over 000 meters high. He also gave his name to the department of Aude (300). AroundAxat, at the foot of the Pyrenees, are the best spots for rafting, a few kilometers from the Pyrénées-Orientales.

Book your rafting outing with Exterior Nature! Accompanied by trained and qualified guide, embark on one of the most beautiful rafting trips in the Aude, in complete safety!
Alone, as a couple, or in a group, let yourself be tempted by a refreshing water sport accessible to all. If you are a group of eight people, you can book your own raft and personal guide. If you are less numerous, no problem! You will share your boat with another small group.

What equipment is needed for rafting?
All rafting equipment is provided to you:
- the raft (inflatable boat);
- paddles;
- the neoprene suit;
- life jacket ;
- helmet.
All personal protective equipment (PPE) is CE approved, and checked and checked daily to guarantee the highest level of security.
What do you need to plan for a rafting trip?
The only ones things you need to bring for your rafting trip are :
- a swimsuit ;
- a towel ;
- a pair of sports shoes;
- a bottle of water and a small snack: you will appreciate them when you return from your rafting trip.

In which cases can my reservation be cancelled?
The feasibility of your outing depends mainly on the weather conditions. For this, our guides regularly monitor the weather to determine if the practice of rafting is feasible on the day of your outing. In case of cancellation, you will be notified in advance by telephone.
Can we go rafting all year round?
The practice of rafting is ideal in summer.
Depending on weather conditions and water levels, rafting trips can be organized at spring and fall.
On the other hand, in winter, the water temperature makes this whitewater leisure activity less enjoyable…
