Components of sports canyoning outings - Pyrénées-Orientales
The short day outing offers you a mix of hikes and canyoning in an exceptional natural setting.
These two canyons are ideal for amateur or experienced athletes wishing to spend a spectacular day in the heart of nature.
count 4 to 5 hours of canyon descent. In the middle of the day, you will take advantage of a break to picnic in the heart of the gorges, on sunny granite rocks.
Mas Calsan sports canyon program
Between 5:30 am et 6:30 am immersion in a wild and remote setting:
1/ 30 minutes of briefing and equipment.
2/ 45 minutes approach walk.
3/ Between 4 and 5 hours of canyon descent (with a picnic break):
- Abseiling from 10 to 30 meters.
- Optional jumps from 1 to 6 meters.
- Natural slides from 1 to 5 meters.
- Abseiling slides from 6 to 7 meters.
- Whitewater swimming.
- Walk along the gorges.
4/15 minute walk back.
5/15 minutes debriefing.
Salt del Pi sports canyon program
Between 5 h et 6 h sporting adventure in the heart of nature:
1/ 30 minutes of briefing and equipment.
2/ 30 minutes approach walk.
3/ Between 4 and 5 hours de canyon descent (with a picnic break):
- Abseiling from 20 to 22 meters.
- Optional jumps up to 7 meters.
- Natural slides from 4 to 11 meters.
- Abseiling 20 meter slides.
- Whitewater swimming.
- Walk along the gorges.
4/5 minute walk back.
5/15 minutes debriefing.

Sports canyoning outing in the Pyrenees-Orientales: practical information
Who is the game for?
The canyon of Mas Calsan is side v3a3II and that of Salt del Pi is side v4a4III.
They are ideal for:
- Sports groups of friends having a good physical condition and enjoying adventures in the great outdoors.
- Families with children from 14 years old, having the habit of sports and aquatic activities.
What prerequisites?
- To have at least 14 years old.
- Be in good physical condition and have the habit of practicing intense and prolonged sports activities.
- Be comfortable in the water, know how to swim at least 25 meters and be able to submerge (put your head under water) without fear.
When?
To make the most of these two canyons, favor it spring.
In summer, the water flow is much lower and they can sometimes dry up.
What equipment is provided?
All the equipment necessary to practice canyoning in optimal safety conditions is provided to you:
- Suit full neoprene
- Helmet specially designed for canyoning
- Harness with protection and descender
- Pair of socks in neoprene (on request)
- Shoes canyoning (on request)
- On demand, cereal bars and bottled water transported by the guide in his waterproof bag
All this equipment is CE approved and checked daily.
What equipment should be provided?
- Un swimsuit
- FREE sport shoes
- A towel bath
- A little picnic and a bottle ofwater
- A USB key to retrieve photos from your outing

What is the meeting place?
Join your guide directly to Ceret, on the free parking from the devil's bridge.
The guide will then give you all your equipment and you will leave together in the canyon, by minibus or carpooling.
Céret is a small town in the Pyrénées-Orientales which is located at:
- 30 minutes from Perpignan and Argelès-sur-Mer;
- 40 minutes from Canet-en-Roussillon and Saint-Cyprien.
