The long day canyoning outings are a concentrate of emotions and sensations, in the wildest and most technical canyons of the Pyrénées-Orientales. Difficult to reach, Cady and Taurinya gorges are of rare beauty.
De sports level, these canyons are reserved for a public used to practice canyoning (teenagers from 16 years). Only people eager to thrills and having a excellent physical condition will be able to take full advantage of this unique experience.
Le taurinya canyon is recommended in the month of July, that of Cady is ideal in August.
count 7 to 8 hours of canyoning, with a picnic break in the middle of the day.
Taurinya Expert Canyon Program
10 hours extreme sport in the wild in a technical and aerial canyon:
1/ 30 minutes of briefing and equipment.
2/ 1h30 approach walk (this is the price to pay to access one of the wildest canyons in the region!)
3/ 7 to 8 hours of canyoning (with a picnic break):
- jumps up to 5 meters;
- natural slides from 3 to 12 meters;
- magnificent abseiling under waterfalls from 6 to 45 meters;
- nature hike;
- whitewater swimming.
4/50 minute walk back.
5/15 minutes debriefing.
Cady Expert Canyon Program
Strong feelings during 11 hours in a very aquatic and demanding canyon.
1/ 30 minutes of briefing and equipment.
2/ 1 hour approach walk.
3/ 7 to 8 hours of canyoning (with a picnic break):
- impressive natural slides up to 20 meters long, including the “duck bill” and the “death slide”;
- jumps (optional) up to 12 meters;
- abseiling up to 15 meters high;
- nature hike;
- whitewater swimming.
4/ 1h30 walk back (largely compensated by the beauty of this remote canyon).
5/15 minutes debriefing.

Outings for experienced canyoners: practical information
Who is the game for?
The Taurinya canyon is on the v4a4III side and the Cady canyon is on the v4a5III side.
Technical and demanding, they are reserved for seasoned athletes and experienced canyoners, in search of new challenges, adrenaline rushes and thrills.
What prerequisites?
- To have at least 16 years old.
- Be in excellent physical condition and be used to intense and prolonged sports activities.
- Be comfortable in the water, know how to swim at least 25 meters and be able to submerge (put your head under water) without fear.
What equipment is provided?
All the equipment necessary to practice canyoning in optimal safety conditions is provided to you:
- Suit full neoprene
- Helmet specially designed for canyoning
- Harness with protection and descender
- Pair of socks in neoprene (on request)
- Shoes canyoning (on request)
- On demand, cereal bars and bottled water transported by the guide in his waterproof bag
All this equipment is CE approved and checked daily.
What equipment should be provided?
- A swimsuit
- A pair of sports shoes
- A towel
- A small picnic and a bottle of water
- A USB key to recover the photos of your outing
When?
The best time to descend the canyon of taurinya is July.
For the canyon of Cady, prefer the month ofAugust.
What is the meeting place?
Meet at outdoor leisure park Exterior Nature to pick up the equipment and join your guide.
You will then leave by van or carpool towards the canyon.
Located in Marquixanes, the Outdoor Nature Park is only:
- 25 minutes from Perpignan;
- 40 minutes from Argelès-sur-Mer, Saint-Cyprien, Canet-en-Roussillon;
- 8 minutes from Prades.
