Components of the canyoning outing at the Gourg des Anelles
The Gourg des Anelles is a real canyon sensations, renowned for its verticality and the variety of obstacles to overcome.
The outing begins with a 20 minute approach walk, to access the incredible granite gorges of La Valière.
From the start you will be blown away by the first abseiling under a 25 meter waterfall, followed by a huge natural swimming pool. Then, as you walk out, the landscape opens up and reveals its mineral wonders.
You will pass 2:30 to take up challenges, each more fun than the next:
- The jumps (optional) from 3 to 8 meters for beautiful adrenaline rushes.
- The abseiling from 3 to 27 meters for thrills.
- Wonderful natural slides for great slides.
- Un toboggan reminder 12 meters to take full view.
- Ten waterfalls, including four to abseil (27, 12, 3 and 3 m).
- From white water swimming to refresh itself.
- Some rocks and walls climb for climbing enthusiasts.
- And even a underground passage (optional) for the more adventurous.
Finally, the return walk lasts about 30 minutes.

Duration of activity
The canyoning trip lasts approximately 4 hours :
- 30 minutes of briefing and equipment
- 20 minute approach walk
- 2 hours of descent of the canyon
- 30 minute walk back
- 15 minute debriefing
Equipment provided
The whole equipment needed for canyoning in optimal security conditions is provided to you:
- Suit full neoprene
- Helmet specially designed for canyoning
- Harness with protection and descender
- Pair of neoprene socks (on demand)
- Canyoning shoes (on demand)
- On demand, cereal bars and bottled water transported by the guide in his waterproof bag
All this equipment is CE approved and checked daily.
Equipment required
- A swimsuit
- A pair of sports shoes
- A towel
- A small snack and a bottle of water to consume when you return from the activity
- A USB key to recover the photos of your outing
Meeting place
Join your guide directly to Ceret, on the free parking from the devil's bridge.
The guide will then give you all your equipment and you will leave together in the canyon, by minibus or carpooling.
Céret is a small town in the Pyrénées-Orientales which is located at:
- 30 minutes from Perpignan and Argelès-sur-Mer;
- 40 minutes from Canet-en-Roussillon and Saint-Cyprien.

Gourg des Anelles Canyon in Céret: a sporting adventure with family or friends
Who is the game for?
Level II (rating v4a4II), this canyon is ideal for:
- The families with child(ren) from 12 years old who are used to playing sports in a club or in the great outdoors.
- The groups of friends in good physical condition wishing to discover this essential activity in the Pyrénées-Orientales.
- The associations, sports clubs, BDE, leisure center looking for an original sports outing.
- The BUSINESSES wishing to organize a day of sports cohesion in the middle of nature.
What prerequisites?
- Be at least 12 years old.
- Be in good physical shape.
- Be comfortable in the water, know how to swim at least 25 meters and be able to immerse yourself (put your head under water) without fear.
It is not necessary to know the techniques of canyoning: a professional guide will accompany you from A to Z to explain to you how to evolve in complete safety.
When?
If you are sporty looking for a technical canyon, choose the spring because the water level is high and the rappels under waterfalls are well watered.
If you are less sporty and/or a beginner, the ideal time to organize an outing to the Gourg des Anelles canyon is june to august.

In which cases can my outing be cancelled?
The feasibility of your trip depends on weather conditions and water flow.
To do this, our guides regularly monitor the weather and water levels to determine whether canyoning is possible in optimal safety conditions.
In the event of cancellation, you will be notified in advance by a telephone call.
I have back and joint problems, I recently had surgery, can I still do the activity?
It is strongly recommended to seek the advice of your doctor beforehand, in order to avoid any complications during the outing.
In any case, the activity requires the absence of medical contraindication to the practice of canyoning.
If in doubt, please let us know when booking.
I am asthmatic, can I go canyoning?
The Gourg des Anelles canyon requires athletic fitness and sustained cardio fitness.
We recommend that you seek the advice of your doctor beforehand.
In case of medical approval, remember to take your Ventolin with you and inform your guide.
Can you do canyoning with Aquashoes or water sandals?
For safety reasons, it is not recommended to descend the Gourg des Anelles canyon in aquashoes or water sandals. We strongly advise you to bring sports shoes.
